NurtureLog Privacy Policy
Alphabcd LLC (“Alphabcd,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates NurtureLog. This policy explains how the NurtureLog iPhone app and this website handle information.
Information handled by the app
NurtureLog lets adult caregivers enter account information such as name and email; a baby’s name, birthdate, sex, weight, and height; feeding, diaper, sleep, pumping, measurement, and note entries; feed products, formula preparation, nipple and flow selections; and pediatric appointment details, questions, visit notes, transcripts, summaries, and next steps.
The app saves a local copy on the user’s device. When a caregiver creates or joins family sharing, NurtureLog also sends the account, baby profile, logs, measurements, and visit text to the dedicated NurtureLog project hosted by Supabase so approved caregivers can access them. Supabase provides authentication, database, and server-function infrastructure as our service provider. Passwords are handled by Supabase, and the app stores the signed-in session in the iOS Keychain.
NurtureLog does not contain advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, does not sell personal information, and does not use app information for cross-app tracking.
Local passcode and reminders
A caregiver can create a local four-digit passcode. It is stored with device-only protection in the iOS Keychain, is not uploaded, and is used only to unlock NurtureLog on that device.
If a caregiver enables feeding reminders, NurtureLog schedules local notifications based on the most recently logged feed and the selected interval. Notification scheduling occurs on the device.
Microphone, audio, and speech recognition
NurtureLog requests microphone access only when a caregiver chooses to record an appointment. The caregiver must confirm that everyone present has agreed before recording begins. Recording laws vary by location, and the caregiver is responsible for obtaining legally valid consent.
Appointment audio remains only on the iPhone where it was recorded and is not uploaded to NurtureLog’s Supabase project. When a caregiver requests a transcript, NurtureLog uses Apple’s Speech framework. Recognition runs on the device when supported; Apple’s speech service may process audio when on-device recognition is unavailable. The resulting transcript, summary, and next steps are shared with approved caregivers when family sharing is enabled.
Caregiver sharing
Family owners can invite caregivers using an expiring, one-time invitation. Owners and caregivers with edit access can add and change family records. View-only caregivers can read shared records but cannot change them. Invitation links should be sent only to the intended recipient.
Exports
Caregivers may create CSV exports or care-summary snapshots and share them through Apple’s share sheet. NurtureLog does not control the destination selected by the caregiver.
Retention and deletion
Local information remains on a device until a caregiver deletes entries, uses Erase All Entries in Settings, or deletes the app. Deleting an appointment also deletes its associated local recording.
A signed-in caregiver can permanently delete their account from Settings → Share and Manage Access. If that caregiver is the only family owner, the shared family and its cloud records are also deleted. Otherwise, the caregiver’s membership is removed and the family records remain available to other owners. Local records remain until separately erased from the device. Website information
This website does not use advertising trackers or account sign-in. Our hosting and security providers may process standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type, request time, and security logs, to deliver and protect the site.
Children
NurtureLog is intended for parents and other adult caregivers. It is not directed to children, does not create accounts for children, and does not knowingly collect information directly from children.
Medical disclaimer
NurtureLog is a record-keeping tool and is not a medical device. Reminders, transcripts, summaries, and insights may contain errors. NurtureLog does not diagnose conditions, determine feeding amounts, or provide medical advice. Caregivers should confirm care plans with a qualified healthcare provider and contact emergency services for urgent concerns.
Security
NurtureLog uses encrypted network connections, iOS Keychain storage for sign-in sessions, and database access rules based on each caregiver’s family role. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Users should protect devices and accounts, keep iOS updated, and avoid sharing invitation links publicly.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as NurtureLog changes. We will revise the effective date and post the updated policy here.
